Contemporary Landscape Painting

“Fred Ingrams has fallen in love with the fens, the low lying swathe of agricultural land on the east coast of England, stretching from Norfolk to Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. He paints the fertile black earth, the abandoned nineteenth century pump rooms, the purple potato fields and the chicken sheds that cling to the shifting soil; with vivid colour and straight lines, his paintings draw your eye along shadowy dykes towards expansive horizons. The views are bleak yet the work feels generous and celebratory” Vogue June 2015

An inspiring weekend workshop painting in acrylics. On the first day you will be outside in the fens no matter what the weather may be (please wear appropriate clothing). We will all meet at the school were Fred will give a little talk before heading out to the fields. Fred will be demonstrating how he paints the fens and guiding you through the first stages of your own paintings. On the second day you will be in our studio developing your own paintings from day one with Fred on hand to help you along the way.
