About Norfolk Creative Arts

We first opened our doors in February 2016. Norfolk Creative Arts is an innovative and dynamic creative art school situated in West Norfolk, a truly special place of unspoilt charm and outstanding natural beauty, well known for its vast stretches of glorious beaches, picturesque market towns and villages and rolling countryside with the most amazing skies and sunsets.

We are easily accessible by car or by train. Our nearest town is Kings Lynn which is well served by national coach and rail services (London Kings cross to Kings Lynn takes 1hr 45 Mins by train for an hourly service).

You could combine your studies with a family holiday. Please see our accommodation page to view a selection of local establishments.

Some of the local sites include the Royal Estate of Sandringham, Holkham Hall, Houghton Hall, Pensthorpe nature reserve, Titchwell nature reserve, The Norfolk Broads, Castle Rising Castle, Castle Acre Priory, 3 local Golf courses, plenty of opportunity for watersports and sailing at the vast variety of different beaches and harbours or if you prefer your feet planted firmly on the ground Fakenham Race Course offers a great informal, family day out.

So whilst you are immersing yourself creatively, your family could be relaxing, enjoying the local sites and slowing down to a better pace of life.

Our Journey

We first had the vision of opening a Creative Arts School in 2011.  We were planning to move back to Norfolk, where our families reside following a long period in London (ten years +), and wanted to combine our passion of the arts and our work.

We were fortunate to stumble across a wonderful Grade II listed School in Grimston in 2013, which was closed in July 2011 following the development of a super school in the area.  We were keen to bring this building back to life and for it to be a place which nurtures, supports and encourages creativity.  It’s important for us that the school is routed within the local community and it provides a place for the community to come together.

More about us…

Hans (on the left in the photo) completed a three year upholstery course in 2014 and originally studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths and then Fine Art and Theatre at Brighton University.  He has a keen eye for design and has previously held jobs in interior/garden design. Over the last ten years, Hans has obtained invaluable skills in event management, working for a top London Event Company. Whilst running the catering division of a prestigious media investment company, he also picked up some amazing catering skills from high end chefs – lucky you if you are on our courses that provide food!

Hans And Sean

Sean (on the right of the photo) has twenty years customer services experience, managing teams within the financial and charity sector.  Art has always been a passion of Sean’s but has become more prominent over the last decade. Inspired by the galleries and exhibitions he’s visited and the art courses he has attended, Sean has started his own pop art collection and is keen to develop his skills in Graphic Design.

We look forward to meeting you soon.
