I have been attending the Mixed Media Course with Tod Evans as tutor for the last four weeks. What a brilliant venue you have. Fantastic light, good coffee and great biscuits. Tod is a great tutor too!
Thank you for your kind feedback
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Hans & Co for providing the most amazing venue for our fab new weekly art classes.
Incase you haven’t seen it yet it’s based in a former school, in a wonderful setting, which has been recently renovated with light, bright rooms and easy parking right on the doorstep. We are learning loads in our marvellous mixed media classes with Tod Evans. There’s a chance for budding artists of all abilities to explore a range of media and even I have surprised myself how my confidence and ability has improved in just a few weeks. Classes are small and friendly and the refreshments are excellent. I can really recommend Tod’s classes and Norfolk Creative Arts. I’m really looking forward to next term and the weekend workshops throughout the year. Can’t wait!
Thank you for your kind feedback
I am really enjoying Tod Evans’ mixed media class, helped by such a lovely venue. Norfolk Creative Arts has provided excellent facilities in a beautiful rural setting. Light floods into the classroom and there is plenty of space for all of us and our many bits and pieces! There’s a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which artists of all abilities can feel at home, and a very tempting selection of other classes and workshops to choose from. Great refreshments, too. Definitely the very best place to go “back to school”!
Thank you for your kind feedback
I have found excellent facilities at Norfolk Creative Arts and a really friendly atmosphere. I’m so glad it was recommended to me. I am now nearing the end of my current course on which I have learnt so much and had such fun, and am trying to make up my mind which of the range of courses I might try next. I’m hearing good things about so many of the courses here that it is difficult to choose.
Thank you for your kind feedback

The course was a nice blend of practical advice, technical knowledge passed on and Lloyd of practice with the camera. I’ve only managed to attend a one-day course so far but have every intention of signing up for more courses. The warm welcome, splendid studio and excellent food makes this exciting new arts centre a wonderful asset for Norfolk.
I attended the botanical illustration course. The warmest of welcomes from both host and tutor. A wonderful venue and facilities. Almost a complete beginner, I managed to come home with a very respectable ink and watercolour painting. Fired up to do more. A lovely way to spend a weekend with lovely people. I would certainly recommend this art centre and I must join another course soon! Thank you to Hans for the excellent home cooking and Isobel for excellent tutoring.
Thank you.
Thank you Kim for the very kind feedback. It was such a pleasure to meet you. So glad that you enjoyed the course. We really hope to see you soon.
Kind regards
Hans
I also had a lovely weekend on the botanical painting class. Isabelle was a fantastic teacher and Hans a wonderful host and cook. My ink and watercolour study now hangs pride and place in my sitting room and I intend to practice my new skills this winter. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another course in the school. The light and space were fantastic and I was fortunate to meet some very talented class mates. It didn’t matter if we had loads of experience or just starting; everyone created a picture that would excite and please family and friends.
Thank you Amanda for the great feedback. We are looking forward to seeing you back at the school in the New Year.
I’ve just got back from a the taster upholstery weekend and i loved it so much i’ve already booked another craft course! Having not done any learning in over 20 years – Hans, the location and the tutor made me feel at total ease, thank you all !
thank you so much for the feedback. it is very much appreciated. Hope to see you soon
The Norfolk Creative Art centre is very well appointed. Hans had provided easels, lights, paints and brushes . the building is an old school so the room is spacious and very light. We were welcomed with a delicious fresh coffee while Penny set up the still lifes.
Once the group had arrived Penny demonstrated the technique of grisaille – a method of painting in grey monochrome. very useful for sorting out your tones in a still life. I enjoyed working this way and couldn’t wait to start putting the colour on.
Lunch was a delicious home prepared meal provided by Hans followed by pudding and all dished up in the spacious dining room/gallery.
The whole group really enjoyed the day and everyone including a complete beginner produced some great work under the guidance of Penny.
Wow! What a fantastic day sitting in the sun at a glorious venue making a willow pheasant. The course was super and Debs was brilliant at teaching whilst letting us make our own interpretation of these beautiful birds. We had such a lovely, social day. Hans was so welcoming and a fantastic host and chef. Being gluten free was also no effort for this fantastic team as with prior organisation they catered most wonderfully. Super food and afternoon tea and cake. Amazing garden sculptures to take home. What a brilliant way to spend a Sunday!! Here’s to many more courses at Norfolk Creative Arts!
Thank you so much for your kind words. Hope to see you soon
I have just had two very inspirational days on a workshop with Robert Dutton as tutor. Robert is so energetic and full of enthusiasm. He encourages everyone to loosen up and is very generous with his knowledge.
If that wasn’t enough, Hans was always on hand with fresh coffee and biscuits and also cooked a wonderful meal each day.
Lovely two days and great fun.
Thank you so much for your kind words. So glad you enjoyed it. We hope to see you very soon
Attended the creative writing course 24th June. Came away buzzing with ideas. Cracking lunch and homemade cake for sustenance. Good tutor and friendly host.
Thank you Laurence for the great feedback. Hope to see you again soon
Attended the drawing course on Sunday, was immediately made to feel welcome by Hans, I loved the practical exercises as it helped to build my confidence. Would have liked more practical drawing, but appreciate this is difficult in a day course. Lunch was fantastic made by the talented Hans, thank you so much, look forward to reviewing other courses and attending soon.
Thank you for your kind words and feedback. Hope to see you again soon
Had a fantastic day where my creative jucies flowed. We started by creating a felt rose then proceeded to create our own design felt pictures. We were all delighted with our pictures and I will be getting mine framed (it’s that nice)
Also a big thank you to our host who looked after us (food and drink) with a two course lunch that was delicous.
Hopefully will return to learn more.
Thank you Lynn. Hope to see you soon
Sue is a wonderful teacher and guides you through the process of felt making from start to finish, encouraging you to enjoy the whole process. The range of materials available to use is phenomenal and Sue encourages you to experiment with colour and texture. I would thoroughly recommend this workshop
A really interesting and useful day. I had vague ideas about wanting to write, and left feeling very motivated to take things further. Sue was a brilliant tutor, and very encouraging. There were four of us in her group. It was all very friendly.
The catering was also excellent, with a delicious lunch and lovely home made banana cake with tea.
Highly recommended.
I’ve just got back from my weekend course, and i loved it ! Hans was the perfect host and Lee the perfect tutor, the environment puts you at ease, and we were totally spoilt with the delicious 2 course lunch, vast selections of teas and coffees, biscuits and cake throughout the 2 days.
The course itself was really great, no pressure to keep up with everyone, you can go at your own pace, and Lee takes time to show you each step.
I’ve really got the bug for upholstery now and i’ll be sure to book more if they arrive at Creative Arts.
Thank you for a great weekend.
Great location and facilities. Learnt lots and had fun. Tutor is an awesome artist. Good food and lots of tea and cake.Lovely people. I was warmly welcomed and well looked after. Thanks Sean and Hans. Would highly recommend. Looking forward to another event with you.
Thank you for yesterday’s drawing animals workshop with Todd. It was full on as usual – a bit like speed dating in the morning – and after a lovely lunch the afternoon session made you appreciate the use of video for moving animals. I learnt a lot and as usual think that Todd puts so much into her classes and workshops that it makes it a very worthwhile one to attend. You go away with far more in your mind than you do on paper which is much more important for future reference. Thank you for organizing it
A brilliant workshop run by Todd Evans on Saturday 17th March. It was very inspirational and the time flew by. She always puts so much preparation into the day. I look forward to her next session in the Autumn. Hans always makes us very welcome serving us with tea and coffee throughout the day including a delicious lunch!
I was so inspired by this workshop that I haven’t had time to stop and review it. The paint has been concealing and revealing in equal measures. Excellent tuition. Tod is always such an organised tutor helping us all get the very best out of the day. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere at NCA always makes for a great days painting and learning. My place was a Christmas present so thanks to all the participants, Tod and Hans for making it a memorable day.
Really enjoyed this weekend’s pastels workshop with John Tooley. As a novice with pastels I learnt a great deal from John, and appreciated the friendly support of everyone at NCA. As always the organisation, facilities and welcome were all excellent.
Thank you for your kind words. So lad you enjoyed the workshop
I’ve just had two fantastic days Taking Risks with Pastels. Learned so much about shape, light and dark and now have the confidence to get the pastels out of the box! Really good course and Han’s hospitality was the best, as usual. Looking forward to going back some time soon.
Thank you for your feedback and kind words. So glad you enjoyed the course. Hope to see you again soon
Thoroughly enjoyed my sewing class yesterday morning with Pippa. Good fun discussing projects and getting advice from my fellow students too. Thank you very much to all including Hans for my cups of tea!
it was a pleasure having you here. Looking forward to seeing you again. Thank you for the kind words. Regards Hans
I have attended watercolour painting classes at NCA for the last 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed every session. With detailed and clear instructions Mike has enabled me to try out various techniques and subjects, all very absorbing. The venue is very conducive to learning in a small, friendly group, and of course the coffee breaks have been an added bonus (thank you Hans)! Sadly I cannot return for a third year as I am moving away from Norfolk, but it will be hard to replicate such a special place anywhere else. 5 stars all round!
Thank you Jane for leaving such an amazing review. Wishing you all the best for the future
Kindest regards
Hans
i would like to give feedback (lots of praise ! ) on Sue Welfare’s absolutely excellent one day writing workshop, held at Norfolk Creative Arts on June 22 last.
I found every part of the day wonderfully interesting and instructive. As did the whole group, I am sure.
Sue Welfare skilfully managed us, the participants, at every stage , so that by the end of the day ( a mere 6 hours later) we had created one novel, collectively and co-operatively between us. Each character, built from a random name drawn, soon had ‘back stories’, motivations ,and agendas as their lives and relationships were described and explored … ideas tossed out, discussed lived and survived as we scribbled away ! Through the process we soon knew them, heard them speak and made them come even more alive in our stories (real page turners)
Not only did we create a group story, which, with a few tweaks could easily be a ‘Play for Today ‘but we also each left with an individual project to confidently continue . From a shy start at 10 a.m. we left at 4 with a clear idea of what we wanted to do and COULD DO next. What a lovely day!
Brilliant teacher !
AND..the food!! A very lovely lunch and coffee tea and delicious cake provided with care and sweetness by Hans .Thank you.
I have attended a number of weekend and evening courses and have really enjoyed them all. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, very pleasant surroundings, I have learnt something on all the courses I have attended and find them inspiring. The lovely added touch is the gorgeous lunch served on weekend courses, this really completes the day. very relaxing and rewarding. thanks Hans!
Thank you so much for the fab review
What a brilliant two day tutorial from Fred Ingrams.
A truly inspirational insight into Fred’s magic world of abstract Fenland landscapes. I found the plein air painting on the first day challenging but rewarding and struggled getting my head round abstraction but then that why I attended the course.
I came away with so much enthusiasm and cannot wait to get going with what I’ve learned.
Thank you Hans for dishing up excellent lunches and the coffee and cakes that kept us all going.
So glad you enjoyed the workshop Deryck. Thank you for the kind words
Great weekend workshop with artist Fred Ingrams in challenging circumstances. Hans had ensured a covid secure environment was provided for the students along with tasty freshly made refreshments to keep us going. Highly recommended.
thank you David for your fabulous feedback
Spent a really enjoyable afternoon at the Lampshade Making Workshop on Saturday, in a wonderful & inspiring venue. Hans was a great host & tutor, & put us all at ease. Very proud & happy with the lovely lampshade I made. I shall definitely be booking myself on further courses here in the future.
thank you so much for the positive feedback
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed Sundays Lino cutting course. Learnt so much and Sue the tutor was brilliant. Lunch was great and so was your cake Hans
From Helen Edwards
Inspiring and fun day with Hashim Akib teaching us how to wield a large brush with acrylic paint in an impressionist manner. A fine lunch, coffees and home made cake by Hans.
Thank you so much for the positive feedback
I attended Liz Balkwill’s portraiture workshop last weekend, and wow! I actually sat for the class on the Saturday, and was treated to the most delicious homemade lunch, coffee and cake during the day (Thank you Hans!), as well as plenty of lovely comments about the shapes and tones in my face haha. From an artist’s perspective, I had an absolute blast. Liz let us pick her brains for two whole days and was so generous with her knowledge and wisdom. I picked up so much information in such a short amount of time, and came away from the weekend feeling refreshed and excited to create. Thank you so much Norfolk Creative Arts! 🙂
I went on the Botanical Mixed Media Printmaking day with tutor Judith Handley – 28th March 2026. What a fantastic day this was. Excellent tutoring by Judith. Superb lunch, cake, snacks and drinks a plenty. Hans was a superb host and the setting was wonderful. Learnt a lot and met some wonderful people. Highly recommend plus exceptional value for money. I will be back very soon.
thank you for your kind words
