At an early age when at school, Nigel developed a keen interest in wildlife and nature, but it wasn’t until the age of fifteen that he was able to afford his first camera. ‘From then on he was hooked on combining his love of nature and recording its many wonders on film.’
During the mid-seventies, Nigel began a career as a lecturer in design and photographic subjects where he taught at several colleges in the country. For eight years he held the position of Head of Photography and Digital Media at Richmond Adult College in London in which he managed a team of ten part-time staff.
Throughout the years, Nigel continued to expand his freelance career alongside his teaching, which involved a diversity of subject matter.
‘My love of nature and the natural environment still remains in the fore-front of my work. Coming from a design background, I approach the subject from an artistic perspective where abstract, close-up and fine detail feature strongly in the images I produce.’
Over the years, Nigel accumulated an impressive collection of pictures, which is represented by numerous picture libraries as well as featuring on television, in books, magazines and advertisements worldwide.
