Louise Stebbing

Louise is a Printmaker whose career began in Cambridge. She has been mesmerised by printmaking techniques since attending Art Foundation Course at Cambridge followed by completing a degree course in Sheffield and Postgraduate Printmaking at Camberwell, London. In 2020 She had been Printmaking for 40 years.

“I use a variety of techniques but recently have concentrated on linocuts & etchings.

I draw inspiration from my environment and try to capture the essence of a place. My images usually start with a sketch and I like the print to evolve as I create it – not working out too much detail in advance, but using my many years of experience to let the image develop in the direction it happens to take me at that particular time. This helps keep the work more painterly and expressive.

I have exhibited extensively in the UK and have won several prizes for my prints. I have many years experience hanging exhibitions to a high standard.”
